The Fazeelat of building a Masjid

When Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) migrated from Makkah, one of the first acts he did was to establish a Masjid before settling in Madinah Munawwarrah. There is great reward in building a mosque as Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
 

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in paradise.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)
 

It is an article of faith in Islam to perform Salaah daily. It is incumbent for menfolk to pray their daily Salaah in a Masjid. A Masjid is the most effective way of addressing religious, educational and social-economic needs of Muslims in a region.

Mercy to the World Charity representatives make extensive research when locating the most suitable area to build a Masjid ensuring it is in the heart of a community. It is vital to provide a Masjid facility in a dense population with a view that locals will readily have access and easily commute to the Masjid 5 times a day including to offer weekly Friday Jumuah Salaah and Eid Salaah and also large congregational Taraweeh Salaah during the blessed month of Ramadan.

 

Sawaab-e-Jaariyah
Building a Masjid is a deed that remains even after you are deceased. A Masjid is built once but it is used every day, for daily prayers, Jumuah Prayers every week. It becomes part of people’s lives, day after day, year after year and the reward continues with it. Every Prayer, every Sujood, every moment of Worship including children learning Quran, you receive a share of that reward.

WAQF Land
Mercy to the World Charity representatives liaise with locals who are readily willing to donate their land as Waqf (for the pleasure of Allah) to build a Masjid. This approach has a direct bi-fold benefit, the donor does not have to travel abroad to purchase the land then and pay legal fees to officially register the land which can take several months or in some cases years. The other benefit is that the locals feel attached to the Masjid and continue to maintain supervision.


Masjid Facilities

Each purpose-built Masjid construction will provide 5 times prayer facilities however additionally; there will also be educational elements i.e Maktab Islamic Education for children from a young age. Older children with potential for further higher Islamic studies would then be referred to enrol into Darul-Ulooms. Daily Taalim will take place for menfolk and womenfolk in the Masjid at their respective times. Each Masjid will also allow Tableegh Jamaat work and provide a sound base for extending local dawah work including regular religious lectures. It will also facilitate bayaans from visiting scholars and dignitaries, thus enabling locals to lead a spiritual practicing life. Mercy to the World Charity always try to involve locals living in the area. The Water Facilities in the masjid courtyard can benefit attendees of the Masjid as well as the widows, orphans and other needy people living in the region. This approach promotes local ownership and help maintaining the Masjid.

 

Ease of travel for Donors to visit

It is highly encouraged for Donors to visit the Masjid when completed. It is approximately 49km from Kolkata International Airport (approx. 1hr 40 mins) by car. Kolkata International Airport connects easily from UK and Middle east connection airports such as Dubai, Doha and from Mumbai International Airport. Donors wishing to travel to West Bengal can reside in a Darul Uloom within the vicinity of the Masjid with large spacious rooms meeting UK standard amenities.

 

Personalised Name Plaque and Name of the Masjid

The Donor is always given the opportunity to name the Masjid of their choice. An alternative method is where the donor suggests some names and allow the Local Scholars to make mashwarah, accordingly it becomes a joint-initiative. In any case, a dedicated Name Plaque is fixated in the Masjid in honour of the donor providing a Masjid for the locals living in the deprived rural area. This will enable the donor to continuously reap duas from the locals benefitting from the House of Allah and cherish the reward as Sawaab-e-
Jaariyah Esaale-Sawaab for generations to come until the Day of Qiyamah.
